Open applications for research methods

The unit develops and maintains open applications for research methods. They are free to use, and they are built for the work we do ourselves: reviewing literature, choosing an analysis, and modelling relations between people. Pick one to see what it does.

The StatFabric interface: research context on the left, recommended procedure and jamovi mockup on the right

StatFabric

Your statistical decision workshop

Describe your research objective and the type of your variables, and StatFabric suggests the procedures that fit, the steps to run them in jamovi, and an example of how to report the result in APA. It also holds a per-test guide. Available in French and English.

Developed by Thibault Coppe, with Jimmy Amand, Sofia Ardaya Velarde and Christophe Leys

The SLRcraft interface: the seven steps of a systematic review on the left, the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram on the right

SLRcraft

An assistant for systematic literature reviews

A step-by-step workspace for a systematic review: protocol, search and import, title and abstract screening, full-text screening, quality appraisal, data extraction, and synthesis. It resolves disagreements between reviewers, builds the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram in a form ready for an APA 7 manuscript, and saves the whole project as a file you keep.

Developed by Thibault Coppe, with Coralie Delhaye

Open SLRcraftFrench only

Runs entirely in your browser, nothing is uploaded. Cite as: Coppe, T., & Delhaye, C. (2026). SLRcraft : un outil offline pour les revues systématiques de la littérature (Version 2.0.0) [Logiciel]. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.19852966

The NetFabric descriptive analysis tab: data panel on the left, network visualisation coloured by community on the right

NetFabric

Social network analysis without writing the code

Three blocks of empirical network analysis, one per tab: descriptive metrics, centralities and communities; ERGM, for which effects predict ties; and SAOM, for how networks and behaviour evolve. Each analysis is a real call to igraph, ergm or RSiena, the R code tab shows the script that ran, and results export as tables, plots or a self-contained HTML report.

The ScaleForge interface: the eight validation steps on the left, fit indices and the measurement model on the right
ScaleForge

ScaleForge

Scale validation, step by step

Eight steps from a raw questionnaire to a validated scale: your data, item analysis, sample split, dimensionality, factor solution, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability, and validity. It reads csv, xlsx, sav and omv files, holds out a confirmation sample, draws the measurement model, and reports the fit indices. Available in French and English.

PolicyTrace

PolicyTrace

Process tracing across policy documents and interviews

PolicyTrace supports the analysis of public policy by tracing evidence between reports, policy texts and elite interviews. Links are coded by hand, at the level of a whole document or of a single passage, and the corpus can be read as an interactive map of documents and their links or along a timeline. Several people can work on the same project.
